What makes our community special? Our residents know that we look after them with genuine care and concern for their continued wellbeing. Leigh Place offers quality care geared to individual needs and is committed to helping residents enjoy life to the full in a safe and supportive environment.
These high levels of support and care enable our residents to enjoy a better quality of life than if they had remained in their own homes, and in turn, offer them and their families peace of mind.
Individual care plans
Low, high or palliative care
Dementia-specific care
At Leigh Place, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. Each resident has an individually tailored, carefully prepared care plan geared towards their individual needs. Where possible, residents are also consulted to ensure plans best fit their circumstances.
Case conferences are conducted regularly, and residents and their families are encouraged to assist in the development and ongoing monitoring of their care plan.
Low care provides an assisted care environment for individuals who are mobile but need extra assistance with everyday tasks such as meals, laundry and cleaning.
High care is provided for residents who require almost complete assistance with most daily living activities, including accommodation, meals, laundry, room cleaning and personal care.
Specialist palliative care services provide the best quality of life for a person with a terminal illness, as well as support for their family and carers.
Leigh Place offers a dedicated care house offering comfort and privacy for those with dementia. We provide a home-like environment combined with discreet personal supervision to ensure your loved one feels safe and secure at all times.
OUR STAFF AND SERVICES
We are enormously proud of our staff. Their commitment is what makes the Leigh Place community such a positive and happy environment in which to live and work. Each of them performs their role with sensitivity and respect – from the maintenance workers, to the lifestyle team, and the nursing and administration staff.
Respite services
Leigh Place recognises the enormous contribution made by full-time carers in the community. That’s why we offer respite care to allow them a much-needed break from the demands placed upon both themselves and their family members.
Support for carers
Carers’ lives also change once they are no longer the primary care-giver. We understand that the decision to move a loved one to an aged-care facility requires a great deal of adjustment for everyone involved, not just new residents.
24-hour qualified nursing care
No matter what the hour, help is always at hand. Staff are on site and available 24 hours a day with our Vital Call Emergency Call System. Each unit has a security alert wall button and all residents are provided with a mobile alert pendant for peace of mind.
On-site registered
nurse assistance
Our on-site nurses are here to assist residents with everything from medication, to helping with dressings and any emergency requirements.
Doctor and pharmacy
services
Each resident can request their own GP to make home visits to Leigh Place. We also organise specialist appointments and same-day deliveries from our recognised pharmacy.
Allied health and
other services
We can easily arrange home visits
for a physiotherapist, audiologist, podiatrist, hairdresser or other services.
Meal assistance
Our friendly, multi-skilled staff – our ‘homemakers’ – prepare nutritious, quality meals in our six communal dining areas three times a day. They also provide individual assistance for our residents, if required.
Laundry services
Leigh Place looks after all our residents’ personal laundry needs with our state-of-the art laundry, and our staff will make your bed for you with fresh, clean linen.
Cleaning and maintenance
Leigh Place maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, both in residents’ accommodation and communal areas. Our maintenance team ensures everything works as it should, around the clock.
